Dr. Chu is currently only accepting new patients on an extremely limited case-by-case basis. HIV patients and partners/spouses of current patients are encouraged to inquire.
Dr. Vy Chu (that's "vee choo") has committed his career to the service of the GLBTQ community as one of the founding members of Capitol Hill Medical. He grew up in McLean Virginia, a small suburb of D.C. where he met his partner of nineteen years. He attended college at Duke University in North Carolina and then enjoyed a few years working as an emergency medical technician.
His journey finally brought him home to Seattle, where he received his M.D. from the University of Washington, and where he completed his residency in Primary Care Internal Medicine at Virgina Mason Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and is credentialed by the American Academy of HIV Medicine as an HIV Specialist. He is a Clinical Instructor at the University of Washington School of Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP).
Dr. Chu's interests encompass all aspects of primary care for the GLBTQ community. In particular, during residency he completed a rotation focusing on sexually transmitted diseases at the San Francisco City Clinic, a downtown public health clinic on the forefront of the management of HIV and STD medicine. He also has an interest in primary care sports medicine, having volunteered as a team doctor for various King County public school sports teams, and offers wellness and fitness goals to all of his patients.
